This causes more confusion than anything else in the area, so it is worth settling before you book.

If a listing says "near Oshiwara metro" without specifying, ask which line. The difference can be twenty minutes of your morning.

How many people share the room

REPLACE THIS PARAGRAPH WITH YOUR ACTUAL DORMITORY OCCUPANCY. This is the single most common question a dormitory buyer asks, and leaving it unanswered costs enquiries.

Every resident gets their own bunk with a mattress, a personal locker, and access to the same 16 hours of daily air conditioning.

What living in a dormitory is actually like

Worth being honest about. A dormitory is the cheapest way to live within walking distance of a metro station in this part of Mumbai, and the trade-off is that you share sleeping space with other people. It works well if you are out most of the day, keep reasonable hours, and mainly need somewhere clean and secure to sleep and store your things.

It works less well if you take calls late at night, keep an irregular schedule, or need quiet to study in the evenings. If any of that describes you, a private partition at ₹12,000 is worth the difference.

Everyone here is police-verified, the building is male-only, and there is CCTV in the common areas — which is most of what makes a shared room workable.
